The Apostle's Creed

I believe in God

  All people want to live and be happy. But, we find life brings conflict, suffering and death. Faced with these we ask: Why are we here? We look to old writings, ancestral myths, faith and traditions. We make choices about what to believe based on what we know, what we grew up with, what we experience, and what helps us. The first choice is whether and what to believe of God.

An atheist does not believe in the existence of any God.
A deist or theist believes in the existence of one or more gods;
A monotheist believes in the existence of only one God.
A polytheist believes in the existence of many, separate gods.
A Trinitarian believes in One God, in Three, interpersonal Beings.

Scripture for believing in the One, Biblical, God
1. God is One God: Deut.6:4, Isaiah45:5-6, Eph.4:6,
2. God is triune: (In Hebrew, words can be singular meaning ‘one';
  plural, meaning ‘two'; or another plural, meaning ‘more than two'.)
  The word "Elohim" means God (more than two). Gen1:1,2,26; Matt.1:20-23, 28:19;
  John1:1-3, 10:30; Rom8:9-18; Col.1:15-20, 2:9; Titus 3:4-6,
3. God is eternal. Gen.21:33, Isaiah 44:6,
4. God is Lord (Adoni). Gen.15:2, Ps.144:15, Philip.2:11, Acts 2:36
5. God is omnipotent (all powerful). Gen.17:1, Rev.1:8, 19:6
6. God is omniscient (all knowing). Job37:16, Ps.147:4, Heb.4:13, 1Jn3:20
7. God is omnipresent (everywhere). Jer.23:24
8. God never changes. Mal.3:6, James 1:17,
9. God is love. 1John 4:7-8, John 3:16,

Christians believe in one, plural, God (Father, Son, Spirit); Who is eternal, all loving, all present, all knowing, all-able, Lord. He never changes. Because of all these things, we believe God is in control, and He makes no mistakes.
